Any good recording device?

Any good recording device so I can record without lag? And it also has to be free. No Hypercam or Fraps because I'm currently using them, and it's laggy when I record with them.

I used to use something called MyMp3Mp3 or something like that, you don't need a mic, it can record directly from your computer.

Does it lag when you record with it?

Hmm... I'll try that.. How about Movie Makers? I can't install Windows Movie Maker for some reason... And the trial of Sony Vegas was expired for me. D:
